Lyricist, Writer, Poet and creative visionary are just a few words to describe underground hip hop artist Dillan aka Skripture, the 29 year, Burlington, ON native who first began crafting hip hop songs as a young tyke in 1999 at the tale end of hip-hops golden era. In the mid-90's he would begin to make tracks and hit the studio with his childhood friends and partners in rhyme.
2000 would see his first official release in the form of a group released promotional disc (The Fall of Man) and in 2008 his first solo release (The Paradox).
This release gained modest interest and respect from across the globe. Called a breath of fresh air by many, Skriptz has come to represent the epitome of the term hip-hop artist. He is currently working on a plethora of collaborative efforts with multiple artists as well as putting in work on his sophomore independent solo release.
New from Skripture, 'Poison' is yet another highlight, where Skripture's lyrics are right on point, at a peak level, and of course the beat is of similar standard. The track has a mysterious, almost spiritual sound to it. 'Elixer' accelerates the pace of the next project, involving more aggressive lyrics and heated content. This specific track illustrates the diversity which he can extend to, furthermore it is one of the catchiest hooks hes written.
Born in 1984, Skripture released his first LP, "Fall of Man", under the 'Urban Concepts' moniker, a local rap group from Burlington Ontario. Tracks like "The Car chase" and "Deep Down" established him a lyricist with wit, street-smarts, and love for extended similes, while tracks like "Death before Dishonour" would touch on the misogynism that would surface sparingly in future work. In 2005, he was released on a set of mixtapes notable for the many local artist appearances. After an appearance in a few music videos and writing for other publications, Skripture decided to reinvent himself and return to the four by four booth he calls home. Skriptz later moved to a farmland in the country, where required contemplation went into writing .
He is now in the studio collaborating with several different publications working to release his first full length album in the winter of 2011. With its varied sonic plateau (Conscious beat, funk, and old-school jazz), it will be much different from previous outings. Skripture plans to redefine himself as an artist in a game where he feels he is "Much needed, I cant let rap be described as unintelligent anymore" his new track "In This Game" explains his return which ups the ante even further. Now in his mid 20s, Skripture strives to remain a relevant voice in an art form that is on life support.

2008 The Paradox was a compilation of verses and features I had done throughout a two year span. It featured the single 'In this Game' wich is still up on Myspace. Alot of this was my young adult years and making the switch from booth-hopper to a recording artist. Production was a key element as I was lucky to be surrounded by such talented people. 'Music Man' was also a Paradox feature and helped solidify me as someone who still had alot to say on record. This marked the beginning of a transformation.
